Context
Part of a long engagement on tintadlaplastykow.pl (custom CMS, 36k+ SKU, since 2022) — this thread: logistics, Baselinker and custom search. Ops needed automated dispatch (Orlen Paczka, DPD Pickup, Apaczka) and Baselinker sync. In parallel the client wanted to leave Doofinder for an in-house search engine, without blocking the storefront during courier API traffic.
Scope
- Courier integrations — Orlen Paczka, DPD Pickup, Apaczka (Symfony HttpClient): pricing, labels, dispatch.
- Baselinker integration — the store as the source of catalog and orders; Base reads data from the store, and stock, prices, statuses and tracking numbers flow back. Fulfillment and labels handled on the Base side.
- Parcel dimensions — size and weight calculation for multi-item orders.
- Custom search — replacing Doofinder: autocomplete, partial matches, typo tolerance.
- Background jobs — Symfony Messenger/Console so sync and API calls do not block user requests.
Result
- Orders reach Baselinker without manual retyping; stock, prices and tracking numbers return to the store.
- Search runs without external SaaS (replacing Doofinder); Messenger workers keep sync off the request path.
